Three in one : this property was originally three separate houses. One of them has been renovated, the second is still in its 1960s state and the third long since transformed into a barn, although its features and architecture are still discernible. The main house is reached by external steps; entrance hall, living room, two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom, all with functioning oil central heating. The second house needs rescuing from its unfortunate 1960s renovation : the work has begun, for it has some interesting original features and will in due course be a good gîte or guest house : two downstairs rooms, a staircase leading up to some good rooms with period parquet floor. The third house has one large rather forlorn room with fireplace -until recently, stacked with straw and with (presumably) mice as its only regular inhabitants. But the volume is good, there is (or was) its twin in the other half of the building. This building, when transformed into a barn, had its roof extended hugely over the courtyard : should it be kept to serve as a shaded spot or garage, or taken back to its original dimensions in order to free up some space in the courtyard? The outbuildings are various and also have some good features such as rounded stone door-frames. We are surprised to discover, after rounding the gable end of the last barn, that there is a spacious garden with good fruit trees. The village close to Tournus has some very charming buildings, and this will in due course be one of them.
